Our Ceremony Room

Please note: Due to structural damage, the Council Chamber is temporarily out of use and unavailable for bookings until further notice.
In the interim, Committee Room 2 is available as an alternative venue – click for details (on the WSCC website).

The Council Chamber

Worthing Town Hall’s Council Chamber offers a unique wedding setting. Featuring a traditional leather, fixed seat horseshoe within the historic chamber your ceremony will feel intimate while accommodating up to upwards of 38 guests. Sweeping polished wooden tables, a rich deep-pile carpet, and exclusive access to the Public Gallery, set against the back-drop of Worthing Town Council’s crest, gives a luxurious and historic feel to your special day.

Capacity:
Up to 50 guests (38 seated)
(Room capacity is the maximum number of guests in the room attending your ceremony, which includes adults, babies, and children).

Ceremony times:
Selected Fridays, subject to availability. For ceremony times and date availability please contact the WSCC Ceremonies Team.

Disabled Access:

The venue has lift access internally to take guests to the first floor as well as ramp access externally into the building.

Due to the steps to the centre of the Council Chamber where the couple make their vows there will be in place from February 2019, a removable ramp that couples with access requirements will be able to use. For further details regarding this please contact the Worthing Town Hall Weddings Team.

Flowers:

You are welcome to provide your own floral arrangements for your ceremony. Please note: the ones shown in the photo above are an example only.

Room viewings:

If you wish to view the room, it is open on Mondays from 1pm to 2pm without an appointment.

Parking:

There is a drop off zone for one chauffeured wedding car adjacent to the town hall – the car will then need to park elsewhere for the duration of the ceremony.

There are various car parks available nearby for your wedding guests and the wedding car – see parking.

Other information:

  • There are facilities to play music from CD, mobile phones or tablets – one of your guests will need to operate them and be present at least 15 minutes before the ceremony so they can be tested.
  • You can video your ceremony.
  • Photographs can be taken inside and outside.
  • Biodegradable confetti only is permitted outside this venue.
  • Pets are not allowed.
